Nexia’s Global Content Cache for WordPress Network (community-related)

Looks like they forgot something at WordPress.org… global data storage cached for main site usage… WordPress is a masterpiece of useful things, but the only thing we see in wordpress network right now when we use widgets is the ability to list latest posts titles from the users blogs… nothing more… how disapointing when you need an active display of activity.

The GCC engine will simply take your site to another level, but you need to understand at first that it’s server-intense for some installations – If you have 100++ blogs in your network, it may be needed to use a secondary database for it. The goal is not to save energy but bring new features and more attraction to your site, so you need to make that effort to do so.

Ok, so what it does? The engine’s first install will call the database to browse your whole network and grab posts/tags/comments of the last week or month or year – your choice on install. That data is stored in the new table created for that usage, and wil lbe used mainly on your front blog or even on your members blogs if they want to activate their widgets.

Some usages:

  • Members Widgets: On your members blogs, they can show their friends latest posts in a widget, the latest posts they “like”, or the last comments they posted on their friends blogs.
  • Global Widgets: Latest Posts, Latest Comments, Most popular Tags, Most read articles, Most commented ones…
  • Auto-Global Tags: when posting, your members can click to be suggested X tags based on their content and the global database of tags.
  • Global “Featured” Article by admins based on the cached content, so no need to go edit each article/post to do so.
  • Global Content Comparaison: This is a “global related posts” you can activate on the main blog or on all blogs or on members choice to add it.
  • Trolls Tracking: Cross-blogs tracking of repeating actions from members and posters… make Drama-Queen a souvenir.
  • Per User Tracking: members can now have a dashy with their latest posts, latest comments etc..

The usage can be expanded once we know exactly what you need, as we can write more widgets or enhance our cache process depending on the needs.  This is really customizable as it is based on the WordPress protocol, sharing hooks for adding new features without rewriting the engine.

This system will be sold 100$ bare, without widgets.  You choose the ones you need for a minimal fee, and the usage is unlimited (any sites or servers).  The support is given on paid subscriptions, so if you really don’t need any, you do not have to pay for any.  As an example, a complete year support with all the actual widgets would cost you 500$US … that’s a good investment if your goal is to have a profitable community.

The system is actually on beta stage, testest on 3 servers with more than 5000 virtual users and 10x posts.  before the end of the month, we’ll be opening the shop and release a PR version that you can test and explore for requests.
