Think your style/design will ever be secured…

Lately, we’ve seen complete site designs leeched and copied by pirates to make a site look like some other… one of the popular one is facebook.com … and ho crap, why, facebook look is so damn ugly.

btw, people say ” I know a technique to make your site impossible to copy “… this is the biggest lie of the internet.

There is only one way to protect your style from being replicated, and it is by having none. How many copied of DaVinci masterpieces were found on the Arts market in the last years… too much to count. Van Gogh… hundreds…

even if thiefs do not have the painting in hands, they just need a precise photo of it, and they can copy it… Copycats are doing it for ages, they are hired to replicate anything… and photocopiers, were made for that too.

So do you think the web will protect you in any way?… if someone can “see” it, he can replicate it. even if it’s just inspiration, if someone see your website, he can work something similar…

So instead of focussing on protecting your style, make your branding more personal so people will not be interested to use it. Create a logo that will fit your niche and your company’s personality, and the style will fit it.

There is no solution for securing the design of a site, but you can make your site unique on look and most importantly, the content of it… the guys are not visiting your site for its look, they want content.
